3PAP was invited to support the digitalization process of the African Think Tank Platform (ATTP), a major policy and research initiative backed by US$50 million in World Bank funding to the African Union.

The ATTP initiative is designed to strengthen the policy, research, knowledge, and evidence ecosystem across the African continent. Through this work, 3PAP contributes digital infrastructure that helps transform complex programme administration into a more traceable, transparent, and coordinated operating environment.

A platform for research, policy, and institutional coordination

The digitalization effort is focused on making the ATTP process easier to manage from end to end. The system supports structured data capture, application and institutional records, review workflows, documentation, reporting, and administrative oversight.

For a continent-wide policy and research programme, digital systems are not just about replacing paper. They help programme teams see what is happening, where decisions are pending, which institutions are involved, and how evidence moves through the process.

What 3PAP brings to the process

3PAP's role centers on building operational clarity into a high-value development programme. The platform approach helps teams move from fragmented files and manual tracking into a digital workspace that can support governance, collaboration, and reporting.

  • Structured institution and participant records for better programme visibility.
  • Digital workflows for review, approval, documentation, and follow-up.
  • Reporting views that support management, accountability, and implementation tracking.
  • Configurable modules that can grow as the programme expands across countries and institutions.

Supporting policy and research across Africa

The African Think Tank Platform is connected to a broader ambition: strengthening evidence-based policy and research capacity across Africa. 3PAP's digitalization support gives programme teams a stronger foundation for managing participation, knowledge, funding, institutional engagement, and measurable progress.

This work reflects the wider 3PAP mission: helping institutions run complex programmes with control, transparency, and reliable digital records.
